Are You Ready to Start the Journey?

Discover the Ultimate Lifestyle Transformation in a Tropical Paradise

Take your freediving passion to the next level and start helping others discover their potential in freediving.

Becoming an AIDA Instructor is a rewarding challenge that can take your freediving skills — and potentially your life — to a completely new level.

Our AIDA Freediving Instructor Course is an intensive program with high standards and nearly 40 hours of instruction. The Instructor Course is organized over a period of 7 to 10 days and requires a high level of commitment, physical fitness, and preparation.

The course starts at 8:30 AM and normally finishes at 6:00 PM, although some days may finish later.

To arrive well prepared and ready to take on the course, all candidates must meet the following requirements.

Quick Facts

  • Course Length: 7–10 days
  • Starting Time: 8:30 AM
  • Ending Time: 6:00 PM or later
  • Price: 1200€

Requirements

Certifications and Paperwork

Before joining the Instructor Course, you must provide:

  • A copy of your AIDA4 or PADI Master Freediver certificate.
  • A copy of your CPR certificate, not older than 2 years.

PADI Master Freedivers must successfully complete the AIDA4 Crossover before joining the AIDA Instructor Course. The AIDA4 Crossover takes a minimum of 2 days.

Upon arrival at Freediving Hurghada, you will need to complete:

  • Registration
  • Liability Release
  • Medical Form

PADI Instructor Candidates must also provide a recent PADI medical form signed by a doctor.

There are doctors available in Hurghada, but we strongly recommend preparing and securing your medical documentation before arriving.

Theory Requirements

Since candidates are already AIDA4 certified or have completed the required equivalent level, the AIDA theory should already be familiar.

On the first day of the Instructor Course, candidates will take the AIDA2–4 theory examination.

You should therefore refresh your knowledge before arriving and prepare at your own pace.

To pass the AIDA2–4 theory exam, you must achieve a score of at least 90%.

If you do not pass the first attempt, you will have one additional opportunity to pass the exam on the following day.

If you fail the second attempt, the Instructor Course will stop and you will need to register for the next available course.

Freediving Technique Assessment

To enter the AIDA Instructor Course, your freediving technique must meet the level expected from an AIDA4 or PADI Master Freediver.

The Instructor Course is not designed to teach techniques that candidates are already expected to have mastered.

We expect candidates to demonstrate role-model technique and a high level of freediving expertise.

First-Day Open Water Assessment

On the first day of the Instructor Course, candidates will complete an open water assessment and must demonstrate:

  • An easy CWT dive to a minimum depth of 35m using role-model technique.
  • BO rescue from 20m followed by a 50m surface tow with rescue breaths.
  • Correct setup and handling of the line, buoy, and bottom weight.

Special Presentation

After registering for the Instructor Course, you will need to provide a list of three topics that you would like to develop.

Each topic should include a short introduction of 2–3 lines.

One of the three topics will be selected by the Instructor Trainer, and you will have time to prepare your presentation several weeks before the course.

You must prepare two documents:

  • PowerPoint presentation.
  • Full written assignment.

The PowerPoint presentation should contain the main outlines of your full written assignment.

At the end of the Instructor Course, you will present your selected topic for 20–25 minutes, followed by a 5–10 minute question-and-answer session.

All required documents must be provided to your Instructor Trainer by email on or before the first day of the Instructor Course.
